DENNIS A. MEDEROS

BIO

Dennis A. Mederos was born and raised on a farm west of Tulare, California. He is a graduate of Tulare Western High School (1969), College of the Sequoias (1971), and he graduated Cum Laude in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He attended San Joaquin College of Law in Fresno and graduated in 1977 having been conferred the degree of Juris Doctor. He was admitted to the practice of law in December of 1977 in both the state of California and the Eastern District of California in the United States District Court.     

 

Dennis began his practice of law with the Fresno County Public Defender's Office in 1978 and later joined the law firm of Soares and Rowson (the predecessor firm to Mederos, Ormonde & Rascon) as an associate in February, 1980. He has practiced law in the County of Tulare for over 40 years and has an emphasis in the general practice of the law with a specific focus in the field of agriculture. He handles criminal and civil litigation, transactional matters, agricultural and dairy leases, dairy water agreements, easements, real property transactions, business law, probate and estate planning.

Dennis married his wife Cathy in 1979 and they reside in Tulare, California. They have three children; Melissa, Megan and Michael. His wife Cathy is a past board member and past president of the Tulare City Historical Society. She is also currently a board member with the Tulare Youth Services Bureau and is an elected Board Member of the Tulare Joint Union High School District. His daughter Melissa graduated from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2004 and is currently director of Constituent Serves for Congressman Devin Nunes of Tulare (21st District of California). Melissa and her husband David Semoes have two children, Emily and Catherine. Dennis' daughter Megan graduated in 2006 from the University of Southern California (USC) and is currently residing on the Central Coast his son Michael attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and currently lives and works in the Los Angeles area.

In 2018, Dennis was elected to the Tulare City Council and is currently the acting mayor of the City of Tulare.
